EOSSS Observatory Control System

EOS Space Systems has created generic software environment for automated large systems. It is a specific form of industrial control system that deals with complex automated systems in layers of complexity, from hardware interface level to subsystem function level, then to policy based system control; and finally networked system interplay. By careful structuring and use of loosely coupled interfaces, it remains extensible at over 500,000 lines of code, without danger of becoming tightly bound and fragile.  Since 2006, all EOS observatories have used this control system.
